Top Workplace for Benefits and No. 4 Small Company was awarded to KCL Engineering from the Des Moines Register's annual survey of Iowa businesses. "I'm extremely proud that our benefits put us at the top of all 135 large, medium, and small companies ranked this year," said company founder, Kris Kunze. "I established this company on a family-first foundation, and it's validating after 11 years we've been able to keep in place the type of benefits that employees find exceptional." Fellow company leader, James Deeds, knew KCL had a shot at recognition in its first year applying. "Our product is our people," he said. "We treat them with respect and give them the freedom to do their job without a lot of restrictions."
