KCL University and Vets2PM’s SkillBridge Initiative offers a focused pathway into MEPT consulting built on hands-on training, mentorship, and real-world project exposure.
KCL Engineering is proud to partner with Vets2PM, a nationally recognized organization dedicated to providing education, training, and career-transition opportunities for U.S. military service members. To date, Vets2PM has supported more than 18,000 individuals in successfully launching meaningful, long-term post-service careers.
With the creation of KCL University, developed in partnership with Vets2PM’s SkillBridge Initiative, KCL Engineering is expanding access to structured, industry-focused education within mechanical and electrical engineering disciplines. This collaboration reflects KCL’s commitment to cultivating talent, supporting veterans, and strengthening the future of the engineering profession through purposeful training and mentorship.
KCL University is a 90-day immersive training program designed to mirror the experience and rigor of a collegiate engineering internship, while providing direct exposure to the day-to-day practice of MEP consulting. The program is intentionally structured to build both technical proficiency and professional confidence.
Participants begin KCL University by learning Revit as the technical foundation of the program, while being paired from day one with a dedicated industry mentor who provides ongoing guidance, evaluates progress, and helps align training with long-term career goals. As the program advances, the focus expands beyond software into the full context of project delivery, introducing participants to project management fundamentals, coordination, building codes and compliance, plan reading, and real-world project workflows, equipping them with the skills and confidence needed to contribute meaningfully within an MEP consulting environment.
As a veteran himself and KCL’s Chief Innovation Officer, Mark LaCroix brings a deeply personal commitment to KCL’s partnership with Vets2PM. “Vets2PM aligns perfectly with our belief that talent, discipline, and leadership deserve a clear pathway into meaningful careers, ” Mark shares. “Veterans bring an incredible work ethic and problem-solving mindset, and through KCL University we’re proud to help translate those strengths into the engineering and consulting world. Supporting this program isn’t just about workforce development, it’s about honoring service by investing in long-term success.”
