In a move to further expand KCL Engineering’s world class lighting division, the firm announced today it will begin engaging music and entertainment lighting titan, Scott Holthaus, on its highest profile lighting endeavors.

Holthaus is fresh off the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ latest global tour where he was the mastermind behind the concert’s epic suspension wave lighting and video projection effects. He has spent  over 35 years on the  live entertainment circuit creating and delivering lighting for some of the world’s most recognized bands and musicians including Pearl Jam, Motley Crue, Weezer, Foo Fighters, Blink 182, Kelly Clarkson, Jack Johnson, Lyle Lovett, Tenacious D and many, many others. Scott’s fantastic skills have been a staple at annual music festivals like Coachella, Bonnaroo and SXSW, as well as once only signature events such as Las Vegas’ 100th Anniversary Celebration. Holthaus is currently nominated for a Parnelli Award as Lighting Designer of the Year, and his touring rig for the Red Hot Chili Peppers is nominated for a 2017 Pollstar Award for Most Creative Stage Production.

“With Scott’s mind-blowing ideas, we are creating a fusion of talent unequaled in the lighting industry today,” says Mike Lambert,  Senior Lighting Designer for KCL Engineering. “Rock concert lighting is known for its captivating and exhilarating influence on the imagination and we can’t wait to apply that philosophy to how we light structures,” adds Lambert.

“KCL’s lighting team is already known for its fearlessness, creativity, depth of knowledge, and pioneering of new technology.  The logical next step for our growth was to involve someone from a very different background,” remarks Kris Kunze, KCL Engineering’s founder. “We are bringing together engineering-based lighting intelligence with Scott’s high energy, experiential lighting talents that can benefit any client wishing to set themselves apart,” Kunze further explains.
